It’s been a few weeks since we joined the HangeulSaem trial program, and even in such a short time, I’ve noticed meaningful changes in my child. As a parent watching closely every day, there were moments when I truly felt,
“Wow—something is really changing.” Today, I want to share three noticeable changes I’ve seen through this experience.

 

한글샘 체험단 수업을 시작한 지 어느덧 몇 주가 지났습니다. 짧은 시간이었지만, 아이를 가장 가까이에서 지켜보는 엄마로서
“아, 정말 달라지고 있구나” 하고 느낀 순간들이 있었어요. 오늘은 그중에서도 특히 눈에 띄었던 세 가지 변화를 기록해보려고 합니다.

 

🌱 1.  A More Positive Attitude Toward Korean 한글을 대하는 태도가 달라졌어요

Before starting the classes, my child would easily shy away whenever Korean felt difficult, often saying, “Let’s do this later.” Now, things are different. When seeing the workbook, my child says, “I know this letter!” Korean no longer feels like something they have to do, but something they can and want to try. Thanks to HangeulSaem’s play-based approach, Korean feels much more friendly and approachable.

 

수업 전에는 한글이 조금만 어려워 보여도 “이건 나중에 할래” 하며 쉽게 피하려는 모습이 있었어요. 하지만 요즘은 교재를 보면 “이거 내가 아는 글자야!” 하며 먼저 반응합니다. 한글을 ‘해야 하는 공부’가 아니라 할 수 있고, 해보고 싶은 것으로 받아들이기 시작한 거예요. 놀이처럼 시작하는 한글샘 수업 방식 덕분에 한글에 대한 첫 감정이 훨씬 부드러워졌다고 느꼈습니다.

 

✍️ 2. More Independence and Willingness to Try 스스로 하려는 모습이 늘었어요

Previously, my child needed constant guidance just to get started. These days, they open the workbook on their own and ask, “This is how I write it, right?” They try to remember stroke order, and even when they make mistakes, they’re willing to try again. This small shift—wanting to try independently—feels like a big step forward.

 

예전에는 항상 옆에서 도와줘야만 시작했는데, 요즘은 아이가 먼저 교재를 펼치고 “이건 이렇게 쓰는 거지?” 하며 혼자 해보려고 합니다.

글자를 쓰는 순서도 기억하려 하고, 틀려도 다시 한 번 시도하는 모습이 보이더라고요. 이 작은 변화가 사실은 가장 큰 성장이라는 생각이 들었어요.

💛 3. Growing Confidence in Learning Korean 한글에 대한 자신감이 생겼어요

The most touching change has been in my child’s expression. The cautious look they once had when facing Korean
has turned into a confident smile that says, “I know this!” A single word of praise from the teacher makes their face light up, and watching them find and read familiar letters on their own made me realize that Korean is no longer something to fear— it’s something they feel proud of.

 

가장 인상 깊었던 변화는 아이의 표정이었습니다. 한글을 볼 때마다 조심스럽던 얼굴이, 이제는 “이건 내가 알아!”라는 표정으로 바뀌었어요.

선생님의 칭찬 한마디에 얼굴이 환해지고, 배운 글자를 스스로 찾아 읽으며 성취감을 느끼는 모습에서 한글이 더 이상 ‘두려움’이 아니라 **‘할 수 있는 것’**이 되었다는 걸 느꼈습니다.
